Raising Cattle Responsibly for over 75 years
For 5 generations spanning over 75 years, we have been raising quality grains and beef. In the earlier years, we even had a dairy. Over time ranching and farming have become more commercialized and with that, we have seen a degrade in the quality and an increase in the use of chemicals, pesticides growth hormones, and more. We have chosen to fight for organics in both our crops and cattle. We grow our cattle in organic certified pastures and feed them through the winter with organic prairie hay, we also supplement with organic grains we raise as needed.
Our Story
In 1925 Jesse Darnell came to Oklahoma and began farming near Pheasant Hill. by the 1940's He had bought the land we currently use today. His son Carl Darnell continued farming and ranching into the early 2000s growing it with the same care and quilty Jesse did. Carl's son Larry Darnell and his children began farming and ranching alongside in the early 2000s. currently, Larry's Sons and grandkids come and help with the farming and ranching. now, we have the 5th generation of young farmers learning the organic way to grow crops and beef.
